GSM mobile operators can quckly deploy Near Real-Time Roaming Data Exchange (NRTRDE) for fighting roaming fraud

Fast NRTRDE compliance for fighting roaming fraud
Quickly meet the GSMA October 1, 2008 NRTRDE mandate and move to near real-time delivery of fraud-related roaming information

Reducing roaming fraud has never been more critical among mobile service providers.

The GSM Association (GSMA) estimates that there are over 600 GSM networks generating over 20,000 individual roaming agreements. As a first step to address roaming fraud, nearly a decade ago, High Usage Reports (HUR) allowed the HPMN (Home Public Mobile Network) to see the usage of its roamers around the world. But the delay in information exchange proved costly to the bottom line.

Now, the next step is here, with a record format that supports the transfer of roaming data in near real-time. The new standard, Near Real-Time Roaming Data Exchange (NRTRDE), provides a method for monitoring customers' activities in the VPMN (Visited Public Mobile Network), and enables the HPMN to detect unauthorized network usage and other fraud issues near real-time.

Are You Compliant?
The faster the data can be analyzed, the quicker fraud can be addressed. It’s time to move away from HUR.

In fact, the GSMA has urged all GSMA-member operators adopt and implement NRTRDE by October 1, 2008. So, the sooner mobile service providers deploy NRTRDE, the better, as fellow members will undoubtedly partner with operators who are NRTRDE-compliant and can help minimize roaming fraud issues.

EventDynamics™ for Fast, Powerful NRTRDE Compliance
TeleSciences has leveraged EventDynamics – the industry’s most advanced usage data collection and management engine – to create a flexible and innovative NRTRDE solution. Unlike other event usage data management solution providers that have cobbled together disparate solutions to offer mediation for both real-time and post-paid processing, only TeleSciences offers fully integrated functions for seamless management of pre- and post-paid event data streams – it’s a single solution developed from the ground up that’s ideal for mobile service providers.

Its event-decision architecture establishes EventDynamics as the perfect platform for launching your NRTRDE initiative. It not only renders call detail records (CDRs) in NRTRDE format, it also can transform CDRs into XML and CSV formats, or any other downstream-required mobile record configuration – and can do so in real-time.

This includes formats to be received by third-party clearinghouses. You’ll gain real-time visibility into all network-related data along with the ability to filter, aggregate, and transform into any and all required formats.

Easily Handles All Mobile Record Formats
This includes formats to be received by third-party clearinghouses. You’ll gain real-time visibility into all network-related data along with the ability to filter, aggregate, and transform into any and all required formats.

The solution also provides the ability to output different formats in order to reduce expenses otherwise charged by clearinghouses – native, proprietary switch records can be converted to CSV or TD.35 compliant NRTDRE records as required. Additionally XML can be generated for ease of processing internally by your IT department.
