TeleSciences teams with Datatek Applications

New bundled solution lets telecom transfer usage data more quickly, securely and affordably

Mount Laurel, NJ (May 17, 2007) – TeleSciences, Inc. – a leader in revenue management solutions that enable communication service providers to maximize their billable usage –announced at today’s New Jersey Technology Council Wireless Evolution Expo a joint agreement with Datatek Applications, Inc., a developer of custom network protocol products.

The new solution integrates the TeleSciences flagship usage data management platform, EventDynamics, with the Datatek line of high capacity, multi-protocol and multi-network integrated access devices.  Once deployed, the new configuration allows communication service providers to transfer event usage data using TCP/IP connectivity.  The result is faster and more secure data transfer.

Additionally, with the Datatek devices’ wide compatibility, service providers can eliminate modem use completely saving additional hardware, maintenance and communication charges.

Configured for Savings, Efficiency

Developed especially for service providers with traditional switching equipment, such as the Nortel® DMS series, the Alcatel-Lucent® 5ESS® and GTD-5, and the Nokia Siemens Networks EWSD®, the new solution from TeleSciences and Datatek extends their usable network life.

Traditional industry solutions are configured to retrieve call records from the switch using X.25 modem and dial-up connectivity. This causes the service provider to incur hours of communications costs, limit the volume of data received, and is subject to line failures and data loss. In contrast, the TeleSciences/Datatek solution uses the faster and more secure layer 3 Internet Protocol.

Perfect for Mixed Switch Environments

In addition, the TeleSciences/Datatek solution provides 100% compatibility with next generation networks currently being deployed within IMS environments.  This allows service providers to bridge to their future with a solution they can install today.

“The teaming of TeleSciences and Datatek is a natural fit,” said Francis Brophy, President of Datatek.  “The communications industry has come to rely upon our innovative and efficient solutions for protocol conversion.  TeleSciences brings that same level of advanced design and reliability to their management of service providers’ usage data.  As a team, we can offer even more powerful benefits.”

“We’re thrilled to add Datatek’s revolutionary protocol conversion technology to the solution we offer service providers,” added TeleSciences President and CEO, Greg Fegley.”  With the ability to leverage TCP/IP connectivity for wireline, mobile, as well as IMS-oriented new services – operators can extend their investment in current switches while bridging to NGNs."

Powerful Capture and Correlation of Event Usage Data from Any Switch

The TeleSciences EventDynamics event usage data management solution – which can now integrate the Datatek protocol conversion devices – is a comprehensive, integrated mediation system that seamlessly captures, correlates, filters and distributes usage data from any single or blended/converged network and delivers it in any BSS-required format.  Unlike other event usage data management solution providers that have cobbled together disparate solutions to offer mediation for both real-time and post-paid processing, TeleSciences offers fully integrated functions for seamless management of pre- and post-paid event usage data streams.  An event-based engine that gathers, stores, applies flexible business rules and distributes data in real-time, EventDynamics is an all-in-one system.  With its advanced functionality and single interface, it eases workload while generating a single stream of billable usage data.
